All scheduled banks in Bangladesh are ordered to remain closed on Sunday, 11 September 2016, except for branches specifically directed to stay open by the Bangladesh Bank. The following Saturday, 24 September 2016, is declared a working day to compensate for the holiday. This directive is issued in accordance with the Government of Bangladesh's notification regarding the observance of the holiday.

Dear Sir,
In this regard, regarding the announcement of a government holiday on Sunday, 11 September 2016, and the declaration of Saturday, 24 September 2016, 2016 as a working day, it is hereby notified that the Government of Bangladesh, through the Ministry of Public Administration, vide Memo No. 05.00.0000.173.08.014.07-220, 05/09/2016, has declared the upcoming Sunday, 11 September 2016, as a government holiday under Section 25 of the Government Servants' Discipline and Appeal Act, 1881. In light of this, the upcoming Saturday, 24 September 2016, is declared as a working day.
Accordingly, all scheduled banks located in Bangladesh will remain closed on Sunday, 11 September 2016, except for branches specifically directed to remain open by the Bangladesh Bank. The date following the holiday, Saturday, 24 September 2016, will be considered a working day.
