DOS Circular Letter No. 22: Scheduled Bank will remain closed on 31 December 2025
All scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh are ordered to remain closed on Wednesday, 31 December 2025, as a one-day government holiday declared in memory of the late former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. While branches and departments associated with the half-yearly/annual account closing for 2025 may remain open at the bank's discretion, general operations are suspended. This directive follows a memorandum from the Ministry of Public Administration dated 30 December 2025.

Through a memorandum dated 30 December 2025 from the Ministry of Public Administration, Serial No.: 05.00.0000.000.175.08.0020.25-30, the government has declared a one-day government holiday on Wednesday, 31 December 2025, in memory of the late former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. Accordingly, all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh will remain closed.
