DOS Circular Letter No. 25: Opening of Branches on 03 October 2014 for Garment Industry Salary Payments
The Department of Off-site Supervision directs scheduled banks to ensure the payment of salaries, bonuses, and allowances to workers and clerks in the garment industry by 02 October 2014, prior to the Durga Puja and Eid-ul-Adha holidays. If payments cannot be completed by that date, designated branches in Dhaka, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Narayanganj, and Chittagong are advised to remain open on Friday, 03 October 2014, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM to facilitate these transactions. Banks are also advised to provide reasonable allowances to staff working on that weekly holiday.
