The Department of Off-Site Supervision instructs all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to close branches or sub-branches located in specific areas designated as polling stations for the Pourashava and Union Parishad elections on 26 December 2021. This directive applies to the 3 Pourashavas and 840 Union Parishads specified in Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Notification No. 05.00.0000.173.08.002.18-259 dated 21 December 2021. Banks are required to ensure that voters employed at these locations are facilitated in exercising their voting rights.

Regarding the need to take necessary measures to facilitate the exercise of voting rights by voters at branches/sub-branches of banks located in the relevant electoral areas, which are to be kept closed on 26 December 2021 as polling stations for the election of Pourashavas and Union Parishads.

Reference is made to Notification No. 05.00.0000.173.08.002.18-259 dated 21 December 2021 of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives (Notification attached), which specifies the election of 3 Pourashavas and 840 Union Parishads on 26 December 2021. It is advised that if any branch/sub-branch of a bank is located in any establishment designated as a polling station or for election activities under the relevant electoral areas, such branch/sub-branch should be kept closed. Furthermore, necessary measures should be taken to facilitate the exercise of voting rights by voters working at the branches/sub-branches of your bank under the relevant electoral areas.
