Dear Sir, Subject: Regarding awareness and complaint resolution concerning online financial fraud. Your attention is drawn to CFIM Circular No. 03 issued by this department on 21/05/2023 in this regard. 2. As per the aforementioned circular, for the protection of depositors' and customers' interests, ensuring the quality of customer service, and prompt resolution of customer complaints, Bangladesh Bank has provided the opportunity for customers to submit any queries/complaints regarding banking/financial services through the 'Hotline' number (16236). 3. In this regard, to prevent online financial fraud and increase customer awareness, you are instructed to request customers and ensure strict adherence to the following: a) Do not share bank account numbers, mobile banking PINs, passwords, or OTPs with anyone. b) Avoid clicking on suspicious links, installing any apps from links, and staying away from online gambling. c) Do not accept proposals related to collateral-free online loans/investments from various unlicensed online apps, including those falsely claiming affiliation with Bangladesh Bank, World Bank, IMF, Asian Development Bank, or engage in financial transactions with unknown individuals through social media. d) Do not trust any tempting offers (lottery, prizes, etc.) without verification. e) In necessary cases, contact the authorities of the relevant bank, financial institution, or the nearest police station. 4.
