FEIVD Circular Letter No. 01: Publication of phone no. & e-mail address of Complaint Cell of scheduled banks on their website and display in visible places of branches

Scheduled banks in Bangladesh are required to publish the contact details, including phone numbers, fax numbers, and email addresses, of the staff in their Complaint Cells on their websites within one month. Additionally, banks must display notices containing this contact information in a clearly visible location at every branch. These measures aim to ensure customers are adequately informed about how to submit complaints to the Complaint Cells established at headquarters and regional offices.

Foreign Currency Inspection and Vigilance Department (Customer Interest Protection Center) Bangladesh Bank Head Office Dhaka. Ref No.: FEIVD/CL/01 Customer Interest Protection Center Circular Letter No. 01 Date: ---------------- October 19, 2011

To, All Scheduled Banks operating in Bangladesh.

Publication of phone numbers and e-mail addresses of the staff working in the "Complaint Cell" on the bank's website and display of notices containing the address, phone, and fax numbers of the Complaint Cell in easily visible places in branches.

Dear Sir,

It is observed that although Complaint Cells have been formed at your Head Office and Regional Offices to receive and resolve complaints from bank customers, customers are not fully informed about these Complaint Cells. Furthermore, the websites of your banks do not contain the addresses, phone numbers, e-mail addresses, etc., of the relevant staff of these Complaint Cells, preventing them from submitting complaints to you. In this regard, to promote the "Complaint Cell" of your banks to customers, you are advised to take the following actions and inform this department within 01 (one) month from the date of this circular:

  1. Arrange to publish/display the addresses, telephone/mobile numbers, fax numbers, and e-mail addresses, etc., of the staff of the Complaint Cells formed at your Head Office and Regional Offices on the bank's website.

  2. Arrange to display notices containing the telephone/mobile numbers, fax numbers, and e-mail addresses of the Complaint Cells of your Head Office and relevant Regional Offices in easily visible places at every branch of the bank.

Kindly acknowledge receipt.

Yours faithfully,

(Sd/-) (Swapan Kumar Roy) Deputy General Manager Phone: 7120935
