FEPD Circular No. 10: Import of Empty LPG Cylinder on deferred payment basis

The document amends the Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions-2018 to allow industrial units in Bangladesh an usance period of up to 360 days for the import of empty LPG cylinders for their own use. This permission aligns with existing provisions for capital machinery and spares, specifically referencing paragraph 33(a)(i) of chapter 7. Please refer to paragraph 33(a)(i), chapter 7 of the Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions-2018 (GFET) in terms of which import of capital machinery and spares for own use by industrial importers is permissible on upto 360 days usance basis.

  1. To facilitate energy sector it has now been decided to allow usance period upto 360 days for import of empty LPG cylinder by industrial units for their own use.
