FEPD Circular No. 31: Release of foreign currency against private travel entitlements by Licensed Money Changers

Dear Sirs, Release of foreign currency against private travel entitlements by Licensed Money Changers Please refer to paragraph 6, chapter 2 of the Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions (GFET)-2018, Vol-1 in terms of which Licensed Money Changers are allowed to sell Foreign Currency notes, coins and TCs to an outgoing resident Bangladeshi national against annual private travel entitlement, subject to a maximum limit of 1,000.00 US dollar or equivalent in the form of cash. 02. It has been decided to enhance the limit to 2,000.00 US dollar or equivalent from 1,000.00 US dollar or equivalent in the form of cash. 03. With regards to Hajj Pilgrimage, Licensed Money Changers are permitted to exercise the instructions issued for releasing foreign currency in terms of Hajj Policy of the Government.
