Foreign Exchange Policy Department Bangladesh Bank Head Office Dhaka www.bb.org.bd FE Circular No. 50 Date: December 10, 2025 All Authorized Dealers in Foreign Exchange in Bangladesh Dear Sirs, Import of capital goods on usance term Attention of Authorized Dealers (ADs) is invited to paragraph 35(2) of FE Circular No. 33, dated August 14, 2025 regarding import of capital machinery, inter alia, on a usance term of up to 3 years. 02. In accordance with the decision made at the 186th meeting of the Scrutiny Committee on Foreign Loan/Supplier’s Credit of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), chaired by the Governor of Bangladesh Bank, industrial importers may import capital goods on usance term of up to 3 years. In line with this decision, paragraph 35(2) of FE Circular No. 33/2025 shall be replaced by: “ADs may allow their industrial importers to import capital machinery and/or capital goods on usance term of up to 3 years under supplier’s/buyer’s credit. The usance tenure shall also be applicable to such imports by industrial enterprises operating in export processing zones/private export processing zones/economic zones/hi-tech parks and other areas designated as specialized zones by the Government. However, usance period for import of spares will not be more than 360 days in all cases.” All other relevant instructions regarding import trade shall remain unchanged.
