FSC Urges TCI to Remain Vigilant Against Scam Calls

PUBLIC ADVISORY FSC URGES TCI TO REMAIN VIGILANT AGAINST SCAM CALLS PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands; Tuesday, 21 July 2026 — The Turks and Caicos Islands Financial Services Commission (FSC) warns the public of ongoing fraudulent telephone calls in which perpetrators falsely claim to represent the Commission and use spoofed caller ID displaying the official Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF) logo or the Turks and Caicos Islands crest. These callers attempt to obtain personal or banking information and request transfers or payments. The FSC will never call individuals or businesses to ask for passwords, PINs, one-time passcodes (OTPs), full account numbers, or internet banking credentials. Any call requesting such information and claiming to be from the FSC is fraudulent. Do not provide information, comply with money transfer requests, or follow caller instructions. The Commission is assisting the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force as they investigate these incidents and identify the perpetrators. If you receive a suspicious call: o Hang up immediately; do not engage or call numbers provided by the caller. o Contact your bank or financial institution using official published numbers to report the call and request account monitoring, freezes, or credential changes if necessary. o Record details: date/time, number shown, and conversation content, and take screenshots if possible. o Report the incident to the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force at +1 649 941 8067 or +1 649 941 5891, and to the FSC at +1 649 946 5314 or fsc@tcifsc.tc.
