The Green Banking and CSR Department of Bangladesh Bank amends previous guidelines to include expenditures aimed at improving the livelihood of state-recognized third-gender populations within eligible sectors for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) spending by scheduled banks and financial institutions. This directive, effective immediately, expands the scope of permissible CSR activities under the relevant sub-clause to explicitly cover this demographic.

Dear Sir,
Regarding CSR expenditure for the betterment of livelihood of the state recognized third gender people.
Attention is drawn to GBCSRD Circular No.: 07/2014, dated December 22, 2014, on the subject cited above.
It has been decided that expenses incurred for the betterment of the livelihood of the third gender (state recognized) population will also be included among the sectors mentioned in sub-clause (r) of paragraph 3 of the aforementioned guideline.
This instruction shall be implemented immediately.
