The Office of Financial Institutions approved the merger of Lakeside Bancshares, Inc. into Catalyst Bancorp, Inc., and Lakeside Bank into Catalyst Bank, effective July 14, 2026. The agency also approved the proposed merger of Marion State Bank into Gibsland Bank & Trust Company. Several branch actions were recorded, including the opening of branches by Gulf Coast Bank and Trust Company, M C Bank & Trust Company, and The Evangeline Bank & Trust Company, as well as closures by Rayne State Bank & Trust Company, Fidelity Bank, and b1BANK. Additionally, approvals were granted for new branch locations by CLB The Community Bank, JD Bank, Community Bank of Louisiana, Landmark Bank, M C Bank & Trust Company, and American Bank, while a proposal by M C Bank & Trust Company was withdrawn.
