On June 2, 2020, the European Banking Authority (EBA) published the "Guidelines on reporting and disclosure of information on exposures subject to measures applied in response to the COVID-19 crisis" (EBA/GL/2020/07) (hereinafter "Guidelines"), applicable from June 2, 2020.

In order to comply with the aforementioned Guidelines, the Banco de Portugal issued Instruction No. 19/2020 on July 10, 2020.

Subsequently, on December 16, 2022, the EBA issued a statement disclosing the closure report on measures applied in response to the COVID-19 crisis and revoking the Guidelines with effect from January 1, 2023.

With a view to following the EBA's decision and reducing regulatory burdens for supervised entities, it is considered appropriate to revoke Instruction No. 19/2020.

In this context, the Banco de Portugal, using the competence attributed to it by Article 17 of its Organic Law, approved by Law No. 5/98 of January 31, and by the combined provisions of paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 of Article 120 of the General Regime of Credit Institutions and Financial Companies, approved by Decree-Law No. 298/92 of December 31, in its current wording, approves the following Notice:

Article 1. Object This Notice revokes the Banco de Portugal Instruction No. 19/2020, published on July 10, 2020, which regulates the duty to report and disclose information on exposures subject to measures applied in response to the COVID-19 crisis.

Article 2. Entry into force This Notice enters into force the day following its publication.
