Regarding Instant Settlement of Funds to the Merchant's Account in Bangla QR Code-based Transactions.

Dear Sir,

In order to reduce cash transactions in the country and build a less-cash society, Bangladesh Bank has taken various initiatives in coordination with various stakeholders. In this continuity, to make Bangla QR code-based transactions within the country more dynamic, the following instructions are given to all concerned:

a) Financial institutions providing Bangla QR codes shall provide funds for Bangla QR code-based transactions instantly to the accounts of micro and marginal merchants included through individual retail accounts;

b) Financial institutions providing Bangla QR codes shall determine the time period for providing funds for Bangla QR code-based transactions to merchants other than micro and marginal merchants, considering customer relations and other risks; and

c) Financial institutions providing Bangla QR codes shall take effective steps to implement this arrangement by December 15, 2025.
