Scheduled banks in Bangladesh, including Bangladesh Bank, must observe 24 public holidays during 2014 as specified by Government Notification No. 05.00.0000.173.08.005.12-237 dated 08-10-2013. The designated holidays include Eid-e-Miladun-Nabi on 14 January, Independence Day on 26 March, and Eid-ul-Fitr from 28 to 30 July, among others listed in the circular. Several dates marked with an asterisk are subject to the appearance of the moon. This directive requires necessary action by the chief executives of all scheduled banks to align their operations with this schedule.
