Scheduled banks in Bangladesh are required to remain closed on Monday, 11 February 2026, and Tuesday, 12 February 2026, to observe a two-day holiday for the 13th national parliamentary election and referendum. This closure is mandated under the Government Notification No. 05.00.0000.000.175.08.0003.26-16 dated 25 January 2026 and is issued pursuant to Section 45 of the Companies Act, 1991.

Two-day holiday for the 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum

Scheduled banks are granted a two-day holiday on Monday, 11 February 2026, and Tuesday, 12 February 2026, for the 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum.

In this regard,

Pursuant to Government Notification No. 05.00.0000.000.175.08.0003.26-16 dated 25 January 2026 under the Ministry of Public Administration, scheduled banks are directed to remain closed on Monday, 11 February 2026, and Tuesday, 12 February 2026.

This order is issued under Section 45 of the Companies Act, 1991.
