Subject: Regarding the addition of Economic Sector Code/ID for reporting government deposits through RIT.

Dear Sir,

1. Your attention is drawn to DOAS Circular Letter No. 10 dated March 24, 2014, on the above subject.

2. To ensure transparency in government cash management and treasury accounts, fully disaggregated information, i.e., office and institution-wise data, is required for government institutions/autonomous and semi-autonomous institutions/public non-financial organizations/local authorities/deposit-taking non-bank institutions-public/other financial institutions-public (excluding deposit money banks)/insurance companies and pension funds-public. For this purpose, some new Economic Sector Code/IDs (copy attached) have been generated as per Annexure 'A'. Instructions are hereby given to fill in the information according to the said Economic Sector Code/ID and send it regularly to this department by the 10th of the following month, starting from July 2026. It is to be noted that the monthly statement of government deposits for June 2026 will be sent as per the previous RIT.

3. These instructions are issued under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.
