The Securities Commission of The Bahamas directs licensees and registrants to comply with amendments to the UNSC ISIL and Al-Qaida Sanctions List enacted on 8 July 2026. Entities must report any positive matches to the Financial Intelligence Unit and the Office of the Attorney General within 24 hours of the notice's issuance. Failure to submit required reports constitutes an offence punishable by a fine not exceeding $250,000.00, with potential disciplinary action including a minimum fine of $200.00 per day.
13 July 2026 Dear Licensee/Registrant: Re: International Obligations (Economic and Ancillary Measures) Act, Chapter 16 (IOEAMA): ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Pursuant to section 3A of the International Obligations (Economic and Ancillary Measures) Act, (Ch. 16) (IOEAMA), licensees and registrants of the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (the Commission) are hereby informed that on 8 July 2026 the Security Council Committee established pursuant to Resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida, enacted the amendments, specified with strikethrough and/or underline on its ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List of individuals and entities subject to the measures imposed by the Security Council and adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations as specified in the United Nations’ press release attached hereto.
