Securities Industry Act (Commencement of Provisions) Order, 2023
Prime Minister and Minister of Finance John Briceño of Belize has issued this statutory instrument to activate specific sections of the Securities Industry Act, 2021. The order designates December 15, 2023, as the effective date for the commencement of Section 33, Section 193, and Parts IV, V, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV, and XVI. This directive formally brings the designated securities market regulations and oversight mechanisms into legal force pursuant to section 195 of the parent legislation.

- This Order may be cited as the SECURITIES INDUSTRY ACT (COMMENCEMENT OF PROVISIONS) ORDER, 2023.
- In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 195 of the Securities Industry Act (Act No. 46 of 2021), and all other powers thereunto me enabling, I, JOHN BRICEÑO, Prime Minister and Minister responsible for finance, hereby appoint the 15th day of December, 2023, as the day on which the following provisions of the Securities Industry Act shall come into force– (a) section 33; (b) section 193; and (c) the provisions of Parts IV, V, VIII, IX, X, XI, XII, XIII, XIV and XVI.
