FROM: GENERAL MANAGEMENT FINANCIAL ENTITIES MANAGEMENT TO: FINANCIAL ENTITIES PARTICIPATING IN THE INTEGRATED PAYMENT LIQUIDATION SYSTEM (LIP) SUBJECT: TESTS OF THE CONTINGENCY COMMUNICATION LINK BETWEEN ASOBAN AND THE BCB ALTERNATE SITE

Ladies and Gentlemen:

The Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB) notifies LIP participants who use the ASOBAN communication link network that on March 18, 2017, starting at 16:00 hours, tests of the contingency communication link between ASOBAN and the BCB Alternate Site will be conducted. The test will consist of simulating communication failures (fiber optics and WiMax) between ASOBAN and the BCB's main site.

Start of tests: 16:00 hours Duration: 2 hours Entities involved in the test: Entities connected to the ASOBAN network. Conclusion of tests: 18:00 hours – Communication links with the BCB's main site will be restored.

It is requested that during the period of the tests and upon their conclusion, entities log into the LIP system and verify its availability. The results must be sent to the email address pruebaslip@bcb.gob.bo.
