SGDB N° 048/2014: Enablement in the Integrated Payment Settlement System (LIP) for the Direct Sale of Bolivian Central Bank Securities

The Bolivian Central Bank (BCB) enables the E09 operation, representing the direct sale of securities to natural persons, within the Integrated Payment Settlement System (LIP). This change allows individuals to purchase BCB securities remotely via a web-based sales system and settle transactions through electronic transfers. Participating entities are required to submit a written request to add the E09 operation to their valid digital certificates to the BCB's Financial Entities Management by 18:00 on Monday, December 1, 2014.

FROM: GENERAL MANAGEMENT MONETARY OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT FINANCIAL ENTITIES MANAGEMENT TO: PARTICIPATING ENTITIES OF THE INTEGRATED PAYMENT SETTLEMENT SYSTEM (LIP) SUBJECT: ENABLEMENT IN THE INTEGRATED PAYMENT SETTLEMENT SYSTEM (LIP) OF THE DIRECT SALE OF BOLIVIAN CENTRAL BANK SECURITIES.

Ladies and Gentlemen:

The Bolivian Central Bank (BCB) communicates to the participants of the LIP System:

In compliance with Board Resolution 130/2014, which approves the "Regulation for the direct sale of securities to natural persons through electronic means," the BCB will begin its direct securities sales operations remotely through a web-based sales system provided by the BCB. The operation will allow natural persons to settle purchases of BCB securities through electronic transfers (LIP).

The operation enabled in the LIP for this purpose is:

In order to initiate the application of the described process, participants must submit their request to add the E09 Direct sale of securities operation to their valid digital certificates via a written note to the BCB's Financial Entities Management by 18:00 on Monday, December 1, 2014.
