Statistics of Credit Card, Cash Card & Electronic Payment Institutions Business Operation as of May 2026
The Financial Supervisory Commission, R.O.C. (Taiwan) released statistics on the business operations of credit card, cash card, and electronic payment institutions in Taiwan as of May 2026. As of May 2026, there were 32 credit card issuing institutions with 59.71 million effective cards and NT$115.4 billion in revolving credit balance, while 13 financial institutions engaged in cash card business with 0.27 million effective cards and NT$9.5 billion in loans. Ten specialized and nineteen concurrent electronic payment institutions reported 203.06 million effective stored value cards with NT$15.99 billion in stored value balance, and 40.77 million electronic payment account users with NT$31.87 billion in monthly funds collected or paid as an agent.
