Circular No. 13 of 2021 - Responsible Gambling

The Financial Services Authority mandates all Seychelles gambling licensees to actively combat addictive and compulsive gambling by cautioning patrons against excessive play. Upon each license renewal, this responsible gambling condition will be explicitly listed in the issued licenses. Licensees must subsequently submit operational manuals detailing their specific strategies for fulfilling this condition and promoting responsible gambling practices.

Circular no. 13 of 2021 Date: 1st December 2021 Responsible Gambling The Financial Services Authority (“FSA”) would like to draw the attention of all its licensees licensed under the Seychelles Gambling Act, 2014 (“Gambling Act”) on the above-mentioned. Under section 16 (1) (g) of the Gambling Act, it is required that all licensed operators as a general condition of their licenses to ensure that that they combat the incidence of addictive and compulsive gambling through cautioning of the negative effect of excessive gambling. All gambling licensees are hereby notified that upon their next license renewal date, the Authority shall be specifically listing the condition as per section 16(1)(g) in the license being issued, and subsequent to same, they shall be required to submit manuals as to how they intend to discharge this condition. Therefore, all licensees should ensure that they comply with the requirements of the Gambling Act and promote responsible gambling practices within their establishments. Financial Services Authority
