Central Bank of Jordan Circular on Individual Debt and Facility Data Reporting

The Central Bank of Jordan requires licensed banks to submit quarterly data on individual indebtedness and facilities starting with Q1/2024. Banks must report branch-level details for housing, personal, car, consumer, service, and other loans, as well as credit cards, including metrics on non-performing debts, interest rates, and collateral. Submissions are due within two weeks of the data date via email to the Financial Stability Department and regular mail. This circular replaces Circular No. (15009/2/23) dated 20/11/2016 and Circular No. (14914/2/23) dated 03/12/2015.

Greetings,

Based on the provisions of Article (45/A) of the Central Bank of Jordan Law No. (23) of 1971 and its amendments, you are requested to provide us with detailed data regarding individual indebtedness and facilities granted by banks in general, as shown in the attached statements, on a quarterly basis starting from the Q1/2024 data. These data must be sent to us via the email address of the Financial Stability Department at the Central Bank of Jordan (Fstab@cbj.gov.jo) as well as by regular mail within a maximum period of two weeks from the data date.

This circular replaces Circular No. (15009/2/23) dated 20/11/2016 and Circular No. (14914/2/23) dated 03/12/2015, both concerning individual debt data.

New Circular on Individual Sector Debt and Facilities in General at Banks Operating in Jordan

  • Data should be at the level of bank branches in Jordan and filled in thousands of Dinars.
  • This statement is sent via the email address of the Financial Stability Department at the Central Bank of Jordan: Fstab@cbj.gov.jo and a copy to the following emails: Hatem.alkurdi@cbj.gov.jo & Dua.alshuwater@cbj.gov.jo, in addition to regular mail.
  • For any inquiries, please contact the Financial Stability Department at phone number 4630301 ext. (2909).
  • Commit to filling in all required numbers and percentages without leaving any fields blank and submit it on a quarterly basis.
  • "Other Individual Loans" must include all individual loans not classified under a specific item, including loans granted to employees.
  • Totals in all tables of the circular for the same item must match.
