Circular to Persons Authorised in terms of the Trusts and Trustees Act – Updating of Information contained on MFSA’s Licence Holder Corporate Profile

The Malta Financial Services Authority issued this circular to address issues where authorized persons were missing communications due to outdated data on their corporate profiles. It reminds these entities of their obligation under a June 2020 circular to ensure all details, including contact information and involvements, are kept current. Queries regarding this requirement should be directed to the specified fiduciaries email address.

As a result, some Authorised Persons have advised that they are not always receiving communication which is intended for their attention. Authorised Persons are hereby reminded that in terms of the Circular issued by the Authority on 8 June 2020, they are required to ensure that all data available on the Licence Holder Corporate Profile is up to date. Authorised Persons are encouraged to make reference to the Guidelines and Procedures in order to ensure that the details on the Authorised Person, including contact details as well as its Involvements are kept up to date.
