DPD Criteria for Banks and Development Finance Institutions

All Microfinance Banks (MFBs) and their Presidents or Chief Executives must apply Days Past Due criteria to financial assets within the IFRS 9 impairment scope. For Small Enterprise, Medium Enterprise, Trade, Housing Loans, and Agriculture and Livestock portfolios, institutions must calculate provisioning using whichever is higher between IFRS 9 Expected Credit Losses (ECL) and Prudential Regulations (PR’s Requirements). MFBs must devise specific DPD criteria for portfolios with shared credit characteristics rather than facility-wise. The document updates the DPD mapping in Annexure-C of SBP’s IFRS 9 Application Instructions.
