Introduction of Euro in Green Transformation Fund

Bangladesh Bank introduces a EUR 200 million tranche to the Green Transformation Fund alongside the existing USD 200 million, allowing Authorized Dealers to draw loans in euro at EURIBOR plus 1.00 percent. If EURIBOR is negative, the interest rate charged to Authorized Dealers is fixed at 1.00 percent, with Authorized Dealers permitted to add a risk-adjusted spread of 1.00 to 2.00 percent for borrowers. Financing in euro is admissible for long-term periods of 5 to 10 years for manufacturing industrial enterprises importing green capital machinery, accessories, and Buyer’s Credit for industrial raw materials.
