The National Bank of Ethiopia establishes the National Financial Education Strategy for the period 2021-2025 to coordinate financial literacy efforts across the country. The strategy sets a target for 75% of adults to report awareness of financial products and services by 2025, complemented by a supply-side goal to educate approximately 10 million adults during the strategy period. Implementation relies on four strategic pillars: building national infrastructure, designing impactful programs, ensuring sustainable dissemination, and establishing an effective coordination and monitoring system. The Consumer Protection and Financial Education Directorate at the National Bank of Ethiopia is tasked with executing the strategy and overseeing its routine implementation.
