Notice No. 10/GGBM/94 of 14 June - Chart of Accounts for the Banking System (P.C.S.B.)

The Bank of Mozambique mandates credit institutions to disaggregate interest expenses for national and foreign currency deposits by creating specific accounts 8000, 8001, 8010, and 8011 within the P.C.S.B. chart. Existing balances in accounts 800 and 801 must be redistributed into these new accounts based on the currency nature of the originating deposits. This directive was issued on 14 June 1994.

NOTICE NO. 10/GGBM/94

SUBJECT: Chart of Accounts for the Banking System (P.C.S.B.)

Considering it necessary to proceed with the accounting disaggregation of interest expenses borne by credit institutions regarding deposits in national currency and deposits in foreign currency, and in exercise of the competence conferred upon me by Article 54 of Law No. 28/91 of 31 December, I determine the creation of the following accounts in the P.C.S.B.:

8000 - In national currency 8001 - In foreign currency 8010 - In national currency 8011 - In foreign currency

The balances already reflected in the accounts "800 Interest on demand deposits" and "801 - Interest on time deposits" at the time of the introduction of the new accounts, shall be distributed among the newly created accounts according to the nature of the deposits (N.C. or F.C.) that originated them.
