SMESPD Circular Letter No. 06: Renaming the 'Small Enterprise Refinance Scheme' and Augmentation of Funds
The Small Enterprise and Special Programs Department (SMESPD) of Bangladesh Bank renames the 'Small Enterprise Refinance Scheme' to the 'Small Enterprise Refinance Scheme for Women Entrepreneurs' and increases the fund allocation from 1,500 crore to 3,000 crore Bangladeshi Taka. This directive applies to all scheduled banks and financial institutions operating in Bangladesh and takes immediate effect under the powers granted by Section 45 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991, and Section 18 of the Financial Institutions Act, 1993. Existing incentive guidelines for loans and investments distributed to women entrepreneurs remain unchanged.
