The Hong Kong Monetary Authority has finalized revisions to Supervisory Policy Manual Module CA-D-1 to align with the Banking (Disclosure) (Amendments) Rules 2023. These updated guidelines are designed to facilitate the implementation of the new regulatory framework and will take effect on 1 January 2025. The revised module will be officially issued once the relevant legislative process for the amendments is completed.
Banking Policy Department Our Ref: B1/15C, B1/21C, B9/151C 6 August 2024 The Chief Executive All Authorized Institutions Dear Sir/Madam, Supervisory Policy Manual (SPM): Revised Module CA-D-1 “Guideline on the Application of the Banking (Disclosure) Rules” I am writing to inform you that, following consultation with the two industry Associations, the Monetary Authority has finalised the revisions to the SPM module CA-D-1 “Guideline on the Application of the Banking (Disclosure) Rules”. An advance copy of the revised SPM module is enclosed. The revised SPM module mainly incorporates updates to cater for the implementation of the Banking (Disclosure) (Amendments) Rules 20231 (“BDAR”). It will take effect on the commencement date of the BDAR, which is intended to be 1 January 2025. It is our intention to issue the revised SPM module when the relevant legislative process to bring into effect the BDAR has completed.
