The Hong Kong Monetary Authority issued a revised version of Supervisory Policy Manual Module IC-7 to align with the expansion of the commercial credit database coverage in Hong Kong on 1 December 2017. This update follows consultation with the two industry Associations and is formally issued by notice in the Gazette under section 16(10) of the Banking Ordinance. The revised module is available for online access on both the HKMA’s public and private websites to guide authorized institutions on the sharing and use of commercial credit data.
Our Ref: B9/60C 24 November 2017 The Chief Executive All Authorized Institutions Dear Sir / Madam, Supervisory Policy Manual (SPM) Revised Module IC-7 – The Sharing and Use of Commercial Credit Data through a Commercial Credit Reference Agency We have updated SPM module IC-7 in the light of the latest industry initiative to expand the coverage of the commercial credit database in Hong Kong on 1 December 2017. Following consultation with the two industry Associations, the revised version of the above SPM module will be issued today by notice in the Gazette under section 16(10) of the Banking Ordinance.
