Banks are required to properly inform customers of the actual reasons for rejecting their applications instead of citing Central Bank instructions as the cause for refusal.

It has come to my knowledge that some commercial banks are reluctant to grant credit facilities to certain clients on the grounds that the Central Bank's instructions do not permit granting the requested facilities, instead of disclosing to them the true reasons for rejecting their applications.
Since the Central Bank's instructions are clear on this matter, I hope that commercial banks will adopt the correct banking approach in granting their credit facilities and inform their clients of the reasons for refusing to grant them facilities, rather than blaming the Central Bank of Jordan.

Governor
