The Monetary and Financial Policy Board amends the Regulation on the Registration of External Credits to the Private Sector by replacing Articles 3 and 4 of Resolution JPRM-2021-004-M. The revised rules require the Central Bank of Ecuador to establish the specific requirements, enabling documents, and procedures for registering private external credits based on the nature of each case. Registrations are conducted in the currency of the contract, require the payment term to be active at the time of application, and are performed solely for statistical purposes. The Central Bank must update its administrative regulations within thirty days while continuing to process registrations under existing requirements until the new rules are issued.
