Effective April 14, 2025, financial entities may allow resident individuals to purchase foreign currency for cash holding or deposits without prior Central Bank approval, provided the monthly debit or local cash usage does not exceed USD 100, the transaction is registered in the Central Bank's online system, and the client possesses consistent income or assets. The regulation repeals specific deduction and requirement provisions from the Foreign Exchange and Changes text, exempts resident securities transactions settled in foreign currency from certain rules, and allows the remittance of distributable profits and dividends to non-resident shareholders derived from fiscal years starting January 1, 2025. Import payment deadlines for goods officialized after April 14, 2025, are set to zero days from customs registration, while specific payment terms for SMEs and capital goods are updated, and service payments to non-affiliated and affiliated counterparties are regulated based on service provision dates.
