The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic amends instructions governing open currency position limits for commercial banks, Islamic finance banks, and EcoBank by adding provisions to Section 5. These additions exempt banks from monetary fines for limit violations caused by force majeure events, such as natural disasters or civil unrest, and grant the Supervisory Committee discretion to waive or defer fines during periods of temporary management or conservation, particularly if the violation resulted from pre-existing activities.
