2024-07-03 | Resolução BCB 397Added · Updated
Securities brokerage firms, securities distribution companies, foreign exchange brokerage firms, consortium administrators, and payment institutions must recognize fair value differences for Level 1 or 2 instruments and characterize all same-counterparty instruments as problematic if one is, except for those with significantly lower risk. Institutions using the complete expected loss methodology must individually estimate probability of default and recovery expectations. An additional 0.5% provision is required for personal credit operations with payroll deduction delayed up to fourteen days. These rules replace Resolution BCB No. 352 and No. 378, entering into force on August 1, 2024, with specific provisions effective January 1, 2025.
