Decision on the Issuance, Basic Characteristics, and Circulation of 10, 20, and 50 Feninga Coins

Based on Article 2, paragraph 3, point h., Article 7, point e., Article 39, and Article 42 of the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina ("Official Gazette of BiH", No. 1/97) and the Decision of the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina of September 28, 1998, on the design of coinage, the Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its 15th session held on November 18 and 19, 1998, adopts

D E C I S I O N on the issuance, basic characteristics, and circulation of 10, 20, and 50 Feninga coins

1. The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (hereinafter: the Central Bank) shall issue coins in denominations of 10, 20, and 50 Feninga as legal tender for cash payments in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

2. Coins of 10, 20, and 50 Feninga shall be manufactured from an alloy of steel plated with copper.

3. The coin denominations specified in point 1 of this Decision shall be circular and have the following technical characteristics:

1. 10 Feninga denomination – mass 3.90 grams, diameter 20 millimeters, and a smooth edge thickness of 1.40 millimeters;
2. 20 Feninga denomination – mass 4.50 grams, diameter 22 millimeters, and a reeded edge thickness of 1.60 millimeters;
3. 50 Feninga denomination – mass 5.20 grams, diameter 24.50 millimeters, and a reeded edge thickness of 1.60 millimeters.
   Full copper plating of 30 microns is permitted, including the edge of the coin.

4. The appearance of the obverse of all coin denominations specified in point 1 of this Decision is as follows:
   In the center is the numeric value indicator against a background featuring a map of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
   Surrounding the numeric value indicator are the words "Feninga" such that for the 10 and 50 Feninga denominations, the word "Feninga" above the numeric value indicator is printed in Latin script, and below in Cyrillic script, while for the 20 Feninga denomination, the word "Feninga" above the numeric value indicator is printed in Cyrillic script, and below in Latin script. Surrounding the word "Feninga" is the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" such that for the 10 and 50 Feninga denominations, the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" above the numeric value indicator is printed in Cyrillic script, and below in Latin script, while for the 20 Feninga denomination, the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" above the numeric value indicator is printed in Latin script, and below in Cyrillic script, with triangle signs between them. Between the word "Feninga" and the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" are three concentric circles, and between the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" and the border line are dots in a row.

5. The appearance of the reverse of all coin denominations specified in point 1 of this Decision is as follows:
   In the center is a triangle, and parallel to its left side runs a row of five-pointed stars, and to the left of the triangle is the marking "1998".
   Surrounding the triangle is the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" such that for the 10 and 50 Feninga denominations, the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" above the triangle is printed in Latin script, and below in Cyrillic script, while for the 20 Feninga denomination, the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" above the triangle is printed in Cyrillic script, and below in Latin script, with triangle signs between them. Between the triangle and the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" are three concentric circles, and between the name "Bosnia and Herzegovina" and the border line are dots in a row.

6. The coins specified in point 1 of this Decision shall be put into circulation in December 1998, and the Governor of the Central Bank shall determine and publish the exact date.

7. This Decision shall enter into force on the day of its publication in the "Official Gazette of BiH", the "Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina", and the "Official Gazette of the Republika Srpska".
