CIRCULAR BCL 2002/176
Submission Dates for Statistical Reports to the Central Bank of Luxembourg
Dear Sirs, Madams,
We have the honour to refer respectfully to Circulars BCL 2002/170, BCL 2002/174, and BCL 2002/175 regarding the modification of statistical collection, and to hereby provide you with the schedule for the submission of monthly and quarterly statistical reports during the year 2003.
In this context, we wish to remind you that the Central Bank of Luxembourg (BCL) must transmit monthly statistical data to the European Central Bank (ECB) within a period of 15, respectively 19, working days following the period to which they relate. Furthermore, the BCL must submit quarterly data to the ECB within a period of 25 working days following the period to which they relate.
It is therefore essential that institutions strictly respect the various submission deadlines defined in this circular so that the Central Bank of Luxembourg is able to honour its commitments within the European System of Central Banks (ESCB).

The reserve requirement of an institution is calculated based on the data from its monthly statistical balance sheet S 1.1 established on the last day of the month preceding the start of the maintenance period. The maintenance period during which each credit institution must satisfy its reserve requirement obligation on average (maintenance period) begins on the 24th day of the month and ends on the 23rd day of the following month.
Credit institutions are reminded that revisions of the reserve requirement amount must reach the Central Bank of Luxembourg by the 14th calendar day of the month following the month in which the relevant maintenance period begins. If the 14th calendar day falls on a local holiday, the revision must reach the Central Bank of Luxembourg on the working day preceding the relevant local holiday.
