Regulation on Credit Transfer, Direct Debiting, and Assignment of IBAN Codes
The National Bank of Moldova promulgated this regulation to establish uniform operational standards for credit transfers, direct debiting, and IBAN code assignment within its jurisdiction. Approved by the Executive Board on 8 June 2023 and effective from 5 August 2023, the act mandates standardized procedures for payment execution and account identification across licensed entities. Subsequent amendments issued in October 2025 refine compliance obligations, with the updated provisions taking full effect on 9 April 2026.
