Regulation on the Setting of the Official Exchange Rate of Moldovan Leu against Foreign Currencies
The Council of Administration of the National Bank of Moldova issued Decision No.3 to approve the Regulation governing the calculation and dissemination of the official exchange rate of the Moldovan Leu against foreign currencies. The document mandates that licensed banks report daily purchase and sale transactions to the National Bank, which then calculates the official rate using a weighted arithmetic mean of interbank and intrabank rates for the Euro and cross-rates for other currencies. Furthermore, the regulation establishes strict procedures for the timely submission of transaction reports, the publication of the resulting exchange rates on the National Bank's website, and the archiving of this financial data.
