The Tunisian Head of Government issued Government Decree No. 2017-390 to establish a three-year performance management unit tasked with revising and simplifying economic activity authorizations through legislative reform and specification replacement. The decree mandates the creation of a monitoring commission, defines the unit's organizational structure and evaluation criteria, and requires the adoption of the updated Tunisian Activity Nomenclature (NAT 2009) as the sole national statistical reference for all economic sectors. Public institutions must align their data and procedures with the new nomenclature within two years, while the National Institute of Statistics oversees technical assistance, updates, and compliance monitoring.
