Financial Reporting Act 2013
The Government of The Gambia enacted this legislation to establish the Financial Reporting Oversight Board and the national Institute of Chartered Accountants. The Act mandates the registration and certification of chartered accountants and practicing auditors while empowering these bodies to set, monitor, and enforce accounting, auditing, and corporate governance standards for public interest entities. It further establishes a structured governance framework comprising an elected Council, specialized committees, and a quality assurance review system to ensure professional compliance, ethical conduct, and sustainable institutional operations.
