The Decision amends the prior Decision governing how residents—defined as trade companies, sole proprietors and subsidiaries of foreign legal entities—may collect and pay cash in foreign currency in transactions with non‑residents. It requires banks and savings houses to apply anti‑money‑laundering and counter‑terrorism financing regulations, obliges residents to deposit collected cash into a foreign‑currency payment account within two working days, and permits withdrawals for business trips abroad and, as a derogation, for casino game organisers to meet liabilities to non‑resident participants. The amendment also revises numerous terminology references (e.g., “cash foreign currency” to “cash in foreign currency”, “Export of goods” to “Export of agricultural products”, and updates the country name to “Republic of North Macedonia”), deletes Section III, and specifies the documentation banks must receive for acceptance and payment of cash. The Decision becomes effective on the eighth day after publication in the Official Gazette, with the provisions on deposit timing and increased‑amount explanations applying from 1 January 2026.
