Bank Indonesia Regulation No. 15/5/PBI/2013 Concerning the Second Amendment to Bank Indonesia Regulation Number 12/11/PBI/2010 Concerning Monetary Operation

Bank Indonesia issued this regulation to strengthen monetary operations and manage liquidity excess by extending the maturity profile of monetary instruments. The amendment introduces the Bank Indonesia Deposit Certificate (SDBI) as a new instrument for absorbing liquidity and amends Article 5 to include SDBI issuance in open market operations. It also establishes strict trading restrictions limiting SDBI transactions to banks and imposes financial sanctions for violations to support financial market deepening.
