Adjustment to the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago’s Registration of Insurance Intermediaries – March 15, 2020 to April 30, 2020

The Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago extends the validity of provisional certificates expiring between March 15 and May 30, 2020, until June 1, 2020, and waives the requirement for Certificates of Character from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service for new intermediary applications. Agents and Brokers are granted a two-week extension for submitting audited accounts due on March 31 and April 30, 2020, while intermediaries with registration certificates expiring between March 15 and April 30, 2020 may submit renewal applications beyond the standard thirty-day window. The Central Bank also mandates that intermediaries arrange electronic fee payments through commercial banks and advises against submitting renewal applications for provisional certificates during the extension period.
