Amended Instructions for the Computerization of Medical Insurance Payments and Claims No. (11) of 2022
The Central Bank of Jordan amends the 2020 instructions on medical insurance payment computerization by introducing new Article 4, which mandates specific response times for pre-approvals (seven minutes for outpatient/emergency cases, twenty minutes for others) and a seven-day deadline for processing fully computerized claims. It also requires daily system updates, electronic linkage between insurers and providers, and daily updates for chronic prescriptions. Additionally, new Article 10 exempts self-funded funds from fees for these services, while existing articles are renumbered to accommodate the additions.
