The Central Bank of Uzbekistan amends the Rules for Financial Operations by Microcredit Organizations to redefine microcredit organization capital components and prohibit specific fee practices. The amendment requires that interest, commissions, and penalties on loans exceeding half the loan amount annually be regulated, and explicitly bans fees for loan application processing, loan issuance, account maintenance, and early repayment penalties for individuals and small business entities. These changes replace previous provisions regarding capital composition and prohibited charges, taking effect upon official publication on May 8, 2018, and were subsequently repealed on August 8, 2021.
