This regulation amends Article 2 of the previous regulation to permit microfinance institutions (MFIs) to conduct fee-based activities, provided they do not conflict with financial sector laws. It updates Article 13 to specify permissible Sharia-compliant contracts for savings, financing, consulting, and funding, requiring OJK approval and DSN MUI fatwas. Additionally, it allows Sharia-compliant MFIs to manage social funds such as zakat and waqaf in separate accounting, and revises the solvency ratio calculation for these institutions to include temporary partnership funds.
