Latvijas Banka amends Regulation No. 266 to expand the scope of risk exposures with parent and subsidiary entities eligible for exemption from capital requirements. The changes allow exposures to entities registered in non-EU/EEA countries to be treated similarly to EU/EEA entities, provided they are subject to consolidated supervision by Latvijas Banka or an equivalent authority. Credit institutions must obtain specific approval from Latvijas Banka to apply this exemption to non-EU/EEA subsidiaries under the new clause 6.1.1. These amendments enter into force on October 1, 2026.
